Buy the Desiree Bra sewing pattern from Primrose Dawn. The Desiree Bra is a classic full-coverage underwire bra with a three-piece cup. Inner cup options include a folded edge, lace edge and foldover elastic edge. Cups can also be made with cut and sew foam. Four bridge options include a basic curved bridge, two-piece bridge that continues the cup design line, lace bridge and gothic arch. Straps can be made with fabric and an elastic back or all strap elastic. All cups and bridges are mix-and-match. This pattern requires straight, zigzag, and 3-step zigzag stitches.

Cup A: Inner cup cut on fold
Cup B: Inner cup cut in lace
Cup C: Inner cup cut in single layer and edge finished with FOE
Cup D: Foam cup with cover
Bridge E: One-piece curved
Bridge F: Two-piece seamed with inset
Bridge G: Two-piece for lace
Bridge H: One-piece with gothic arch

Suggested fabrics:

Self: Low-stretch knits such as duoplex, dazzle tricot, stabilised tricot, sheer cup lining, bra tulle, scuba knit, one-way stretch satin spandex, 40D tricot, embroidered tulle. Cup D cover can use knits with more stretch.

Lining: Stable knit with no stretch such as sheer cup lining/stabilised tricot.

Band: Powernet, techsheen.

Fabric requirements:

Cup sizes A - F: Self, 3/8 yd (0.4 m) // Lining, 3/8 yd (0.4 m) // Band, 1/4 yd (0.3 m).

Cup sizes G - M: Self, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Lining, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Band, 1/4 yd (0.3 m).

Sizing: Band sizes 28 – 44 and cup sizes A – M. Please check the designer's size chart.

Note: Two size ranges have been drafted separately. Cup sizes A - F use regular wires. Cup sizes G - M use vertical wires and have a more projected shape.
